Senior Lecturer


Dr Thaya Nadasan is employed in a Joint Health Establishment (JHE) post between the Department of Health (DOH) and the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) with 29 and 26 years of clinical as well as teaching experience respectively. She has a Bachelor in Physiotherapy degree (BPhysio) and a Masters in Physiotherapy (MPhysio) from the University of Durban Westville. In addition, postgraduate qualifications from UNISA include a Diploma in Ortho-paedagogics (DOT) and the Higher Education Diploma for tertiary education (HED). In 2010, she graduated with a PhD from UKZN and received the Golden Key International Honour Society award for being placed in the first 15% of achievers in UKZN for PhD Research. Subsequently, she presented papers at the International Conference for Education, Research and Innovation (ICERI2010) in Spain and at the World Confederation of Physical Therapy (WCPT 2011) conference in Amsterdam. DR Nadasan is currently a Senior Lecturer in Physiotherapy at UKZN and is registered with the South African Society for Physiotherapists and the Health Professions Council of South Africa.
